About My Furniture
Medicine River Woodworks, LLC, located in the breathtaking Bitterroot Valley of western
Montana, has been creating log furniture for 10 years. All of my furniture is hand crafted from
“standing dead” trees, mostly pine and fir. No live trees are ever cut to create my furniture products. Draw knives and other hand tools are used to peel the bark from the logs, and to clean the burls to bring out the character.
Most of my outdoor furniture is finished with a durable sparr varnish. My indoor furniture pieces are finished with a polyacrylic or polyurethane varnish. I can also custom stain or finish to your specifications.
There is no assembly line production at my shop. No item leaves my shop that I wouldn’t want to put in or around my own home. I guarantee your satisfaction.
I believe in today’s competitive market the only way to build a lasting business is by having happy customers. As I travel around the state selling our products at Home & Garden Shows, Festivals, and Art & Craft Shows,
I continually see my customers coming back for more. This is the best compliment I can hope for, is to have happy, satisfied customers that I do business with year after year. You probably won’t see me at shows out of state, as I stay busy right here in our home state of Montana.

The carvings and furniture pictured on this web site are a small sample of my work. I usually have a good selection of carvings and furniture on hand
for sale. I can email or send you a picture of a particular piece you may be looking for, that I have on hand, before you place your order. If you decide to place a custom order it typically takes
about 4-6 weeks to complete.
I will periodically update this site with new carving and furniture pictures so be sure to check back and see what's new.

After selecting an image to enlarge, the rest can be cycled through by clicking on the right and left edges of each
enlarged image or by using the right and left arrow keys.
My shades are made from a heavy parchment paper that looks like leather. They all come with leather lacing around top and
bottom. You can choose to add a leather 'cap' in 3 different shades of leather (see examples below). The scenes can be printed on the inside where you don't see it until the light is turned on.
Shipping the shades generally runs $15.00 depending on size and destination.
